We come from a variety of Christian backgrounds, but our members all subscribe either to our Statement of Faith or to the Apostles' Creed.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe that
- there is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit;
- the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, are inerrant in the original writings, and are the supreme and final authority for faith and life;
- God created man in his own image, but that man, tempted by Satan, sinned with all his descendants, and fell into physical and spiritual death;
- Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man;
- the Lord Jesus Christ, as representative and substitutionary sacrifice, died for our sins and that all who believe in him are justified on the ground of his shed blood;
- the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected, that he ascended into heaven, and that he lives there for us as High Priest and advocate;
- he will personally return in power and glory to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords;
- man can be redeemed only through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross; that salvation is personal, received by grace through faith; that man becomes a child of God by being born again of the Holy Spirit through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ;
- the soul is immortal: We believe in the resurrection of the body, in the general judgement at the end of the world, and the eternal happiness of the righteous;
- the Church is made up of all believers throughout all ages, irrespective of denominational affiliation.
APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
